How to compose music

Minor scale

C , (C#/Db), D , (D#/Eb), E , F , (F#/Gb) , G , (G#/Ab), A , (A#/Bb), B

Minor scale consists of 7 notes choosen from those 12 above.

The formula for building Major scale is:

W-H-W-W-H-W-W

Where "W" stands for Whole tone and "H" stands for Half tone. Whole tone is going for example from C to D or from F# to G# or from Eb to F. Half tone is going for example from E to F or from A to Bb or from B to C.

So once we understand the concept of building Minor scale we can try to build for example C minor scale:

If we follow our formula for Minor scale which is W-H-W-W-H-W-W and start on C note we would get this:

C (W) D (H) Eb (W) F (W) G (H) Ab (W) Bb (W) C

So the notes from C Minor scale are :

C, D , Eb , F , G , Ab , Bb , C
