Minor scale
C , (C#/Db), D , (D#/Eb), E , F , (F#/Gb) , G , (G#/Ab), A , (A#/Bb), B
Minor scale consists of 7 notes choosen from those 12 above.
The formula for building Major scale is:
W-H-W-W-H-W-W
Where
"W" stands for
Whole tone
and
"H" stands for
Half tone.
Whole tone is going for example from
C to
D or
from
F# to
G# or from
Eb to
F.
Half tone is going for example from
E to
F or
from
A to
Bb or from
B to
C.
So once we understand the concept of building
Minor scale
we can try to build for example
C minor scale:
If we follow our formula for
Minor scale which is
W-H-W-W-H-W-W and start on C note we would get this:
C (W) D (H) Eb (W) F (W) G (H) Ab (W) Bb (W) C
So the notes from
